Take Me Out to the Ball Game
Although we use innogration at STI as it applies to tech companies, the truth is that it also applies to every form of competition including baseball. In this month’s In Focus article, lifelong baseball fan and technology savant Leo Boeckl compares the way our two local MLB franchises have become consistently competitive by applying the same principals to building out their teams that the leading tech companies use to stay one step ahead of the curve.
Leo then applies that lesson in his Sector Spotlight article to a couple of former tech darlings that each fell into a long period of hibernation before making the necessary changes to once again become competitive. Both are current holdings in our Investments Portfolio, and have performed much better than the overall market. Up
21% and 33% respectively so far this year, Microsoft and Intel have proven that its never too late to get back into the game if you make the right moves.
As I announced last week, long time tech industry analyst Rob DeFrancesco takes over our Next Wave portfolio beginning this month, and leads off with a double; two new additions to the portfolio that he feels offer huge upside potential in the years to come. We are excited to have Rob join our team, and look forward to his insights in the months to come.
