Apple Rocks the Boat – Again
Last week Apple shook up the market by announcing several new product introductions, including its long awaited entry into the wearable tech market – the Apple Watch. While it remains to be seen if the watch – or any other form of wearable tech – really catches on there are immediate benefits to the Apple iPhone by linking these two devices together. In this month’s In Focus article, Leo Boeckl explains what the Apple Watch really means from an innogration perspective.
We continue the theme of Wearable Tech with Rob DeFrancesco’s Sector Spotlight piece on two companies that should benefit greatly from the growth of wearable tech. While we often discuss innogration with regard to the company doing the acquiring of outside resources to enhance its product such as Apple is doing with its iPhone, the companies on the other end of those transactions also benefit by having a company like Apple as a customer, such as the two that Rob highlights in this article.
Rob also adds another up-and-coming tech stock to our Next Wave portfolio, this one a relatively new provider of flash-optimized hybrid storage technology that has been able to win market share away from much larger competitors. Going public to relatively little fanfare in December of last year, this stock can still be bought close to its IPO price.
As always, you can check out our three recommended portfolios: Investments, Next Wave, and Equity Trades to find ideas for new additions to your tech stock portfolios. Also, we encourage you to use the Stock Talk feature beneath each article if you have any questions.
