Is now a good time to buy SCTY?
Jim Pearce
I think it’s too soon to try to catch that falling knife. The long term economics of the energy sector is going through convulsions so I’d suggest holding off until we know we have found the bottom.
What you guys think about PTX? I heard that the billionaire Cohen owns this stock? It appears to be oversold.
Jim Pearce
It’s hard to call a stock “oversold” that is losing money at the rate PTX is. Even at a share price of only 42 cents, it is price at three times its book value per share of 14 cents, and has negative earnings per share of more than five times the share price. And with total debt of $300 million and a market cap of only $26 million, it is difficult to foresee a scenario that ends well for its equity holders. btw, the biggest direct shareholder of PTX is James Edward Smith Jr., and no one else is a close second.

In this case the answer to both your questions is first company described in that report, which is HiMax (HIMX).

Hi Jim with VR developing as it is-how would you position yourself with these stocks? What large companies shall we include?Apple,Microsoft?
Jim Pearce
Its unlikely that VR will have a material impact on the bottom line of huge companies like Apple and Microsoft in the near future, so I’d stick with our bundle of small-cap stocks if you are looking for immediate gain from VR as explained in our special report on that subject (http://www.investingdaily.com/res/reports/term1y/BTP-Three_Hot_Stocks_for_the_$150_Billion_Virtual_Reality_Revolution.pdf). But if those types of stocks are too risky for you, then Apple, Microsoft and Qualcomm are three mega-cap stocks that should eventually benefit from VR as described in this recent PF article: http://www.investingdaily.com/personal-finance/articles/25160/virtual-realitys-second-act/. Thank you.
