Buy Brunswick
Brunswick Corp. (NYSE: BC) is flexing its muscles. The company’s Jan. 21 purchase of Cybex International accelerates its plan to protect earnings from cyclical swings and absorb a steady revenue grower. Cybex makes and sells fitness equipment to health clubs, hotels and colleges.
Brunswick, known mainly for its Boston Whaler fishing boats, had already been balancing out earnings with its sales of Life Fitness treadmills and cardio bikes. The addition of Cybex will help Brunswick strengthen its fitness business and diversify revenue away from the cyclical boat business.
Also, Brunswick will improve profits as it moves production of Cybex equipment to its low cost manufacturing plants.
We’ll have a full report in Tuesday’s issue of Profit Catalyst.
Buy Brunswick Corp. up to $46.

Hi Linda,
I think your concept is that you will notify us if you think we have captured the maximum upside in one of your recs? I am pleased with BC’s action today guess I will let it ride since it may not pull back to areas below your “buy to” number – Hopefully :^)

Hi Jon,
You are correct- I will issue a sell notice when a stock hits my target. In fact, I am working on updating the portfolio so that instead of a buy limit price I provide a target price. This way subscribers can decide how much upside they need to justify purchase. The targets will be updated as new information becomes available. Thanks for the comment and yes- GO Brunswick!

Years before I ever had a thought about stocks, I lived as a teenager and a good part of my adult life in the Boston area including Watertown. I had an adventure in a 13-foot Boston Whaler, leaving Squantum Marina; with a friend making a round trip to Martha’s Vineyard and back. I recall Buzzards Bay with a westerly wind was challenging, but the seaworthy craft made it – and now I own the stock.

Jon- Wow, this feels like things have really come full circle! I’m guessing you didn’t have a pet rat on that boat that may have found its way across the Charles to the lab. Linda
