Sell to close the June 15, 2018 call on Abbvie (NYSE: ABBV) with a strike price of $105 at $4.20 or higher for a swift 50% gain. Symbol (ABBV180615C105).
It’s a beautiful thing when an options trade suggestion works out almost exactly as planned. Abbvie boosted investor confidence regarding its drug pipeline at a recent conference and received a bump due to a relief that President Trump’s plan to reign in drug pricing was short on details.

Yes, I still have the stock in the PCA portfolio and expect it to move higher. The options trade idea was linked to a short-term move that I hoped would appear with the company’s recent presentation at an investor conference. However, the bullish concept is much longer term as ABBV has several new drugs that are doing quite well.

Good morning, Linda,
I had done this a bit different, buying the 15-JUN 105/110 call spread for a $1.40 debit. Saw the nice move at the open and closed two-thirds of my position for +$2.10, bringing my overall cost in the trade down to about zero. When I saw your alert, closed the remaining third for $2.14…giving me a $2.1133 return, before commissions, or about the same 50%.
